I. Love. Puppy Chow. So when I found this recipe for Peppermint Crunch Puppy Chow, I was very excited. I actually combined two different "pins," if you will, for inspiration: Sally's Baking Addiction gave me the peppermint idea, and I liked the recipe Peanut Butter Fingers used for her Pumpkin Spice Puppy Chow (I also improvised and added peppermint extract).
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 12-ounce package white baking chips
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup of crushed candy canes
- 9 cups rice Chex cereal
Directions:
- Melt the white baking chips in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave for a minute, stir well, and continue microwaving at 15 second intervals until completely melted.
- Stir in peppermint extract
- Add rice Chex cereal
- Add crushed candy cane pieces
- Add powdered sugar (I typically use a large tupperware container to shake and cover all of the cereal with powdered sugar)
And voila! A fantastically delicious treat!
In a pinch for a cute/quick gift idea? Grab some scrapbook paper, holiday-themed stickers, and a stapler. Use these for an office holiday party (the reason I made them), a family get-together, or as a gift for neighbors!
