State Fair Fun!

The MN State Fair is a bittersweet time. It means summer is coming to an end, but that my favorite season (fall) is right around the corner. This year, I accompanied my grandma and aunt and although it rained, we still managed to have a fabulous time at the great Minnesota get-together.

I really enjoy Gander Mountain's booth. Well, maybe not the booth so much as the awesome animal hats! I decided to go the deer route this year, while Julie opted for the lovely small mouth bass.

No MN State Fair adventure is complete without a stop at Sweet Martha's Cookie Jar. YUM!!

I'm also a big fan of Australian Battered Potatoes. Along with Sweet Martha's Cookies, this is the only time of year I'm able to indulge in the deliciousness of deep fried potato slices slathered with cheese and ranch sauce (what grandma is holding in the above picture) - I'm actually a little relieved that they're only available at the State Fair! As sorry as I am to see summer go, I can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. And with that, I bid adieu to you State Fair...until next year! :)
