Late Father's Day Post - Candy Letter

I know Father's Day was a couple of weeks ago, but I wanted to share the gift we gave my dad this year because it can work for any occasion. I feel like my dad kind of gets gypped every Father's Day. My mom enjoys flowers and fun crafty things so shopping for her is fairly easy. My dad on the other hand always ends up getting something for the garage or fishing tackle (although, I might be over thinking this - maybe I don't find garage/fishing stuff fun because I'm a girl. Hmmm....). This year with the help of Pinterest, I found a great idea I thought he would love and would help make me feel better about not getting him "fun" gifts. He loved it, and my brother, sister and I came off looking like rockstars. The hardest part was finding all of the candy - putting this together only took about 10-15 minutes.

Supplies:
  • Cardboard - I picked mine up at the dollar store, and they were more of a foam cardboard
  • Tape
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Marker
  • Creative Story
  • CANDY! :)
This project is fun because you can tweak the story to flow however you want. I used two boards because I wanted to use as many candy pieces as I could (24 pieces!), and used a hot glue gun to secure the boxed candy, and tape to secure the rest. Since my dad doesn't really care for fruity candy, I primarily stuck to chocolate pieces.

Note: the candy after Nerds is Reese's Nutrageous :)

    1. Thank you! It's a Reese's Nutrageous candy bar - the writing is just super small on the packaging.
